Turnkey lost foam and V-process mini-plants

We design, supply and start up your foundry: from foam pattern to finished casting, with installation and training.

Fenix-Dilbar · automated line

  • from $60,000 Equipment price
  • 8–12 months Payback at full load
  • 10–50 t/month Output

A Modern Technologies mini-plant is equipment, installation, staff training and support after start-up, all in one contract. Within 2–3 months of delivery you cast iron, steel, bronze or aluminum yourself instead of buying castings elsewhere. Two technologies: lost foam casting (LFC, Russian ЛГМ) and the V-process, also called vacuum-film molding (Russian ВПФ). Equipment from $60,000 (FENIX molding lines), mini-plants from $98,500; 10–50 tonnes a month, payback in 8–12 months.

  • 2–3 months from delivery to first casting
  • 6 offices: headquarters in Dubai, production in China

Mini-plant configurations

Four standard configurations. The scope of supply scales to your output: flasks and furnaces are added as modules, with no need to rebuild the shop.

All configurations and scope of supply
  1. Lost foam mini-plant, base package 10 t/month from $98,500 The base package is the least expensive way into the casting business: 11 items of equipment, up to 10 tonnes of castings a month, 200-300 m2 of floor area and a price of $98,500. Specifications
  2. Lost foam mini-plant, 10 t/month 10 t/month from $130,000 This lost foam casting (LFC) mini-plant produces up to 10 tonnes of castings a month and covers the full cycle in one shop: from expanding polystyrene beads to pouring metal and finishing the castings. Specifications
  3. Lost foam mini-plant, 20 t/month 20 t/month from $260,000 The 20 t/month lost foam plant is an industrial configuration: a doubled pattern shop, a 160 kg induction furnace and in-house quality control with a metal analysis laboratory, a pentane meter and a viscometer. Specifications
  4. Lost foam mini-plant, 30 t/month 30 t/month from $390,000 The 30 t/month plant is the largest mechanized configuration in the lost foam range: 2x1x1 m monoblock molding units instead of separate flasks, a 250 kg induction furnace and three MT-400 pattern machines. Specifications
  5. Mechanized V-process mini-plant, 40-50 t/month 40-50 t/month from $390,000 This mechanized V-process plant casts 40-50 tonnes a month using vacuum sealed molding: the mold is held together by vacuum, with no binders and no resin-bonded cores. Specifications

Delivery is quoted separately depending on the location.

What you get

A row of induction melting furnaces at a customer's plant

A whole plant, not a set of machines

The white shop for foam patterns and the black shop for casting come as one package: semi-automatic pattern machines, monoblock flasks, melting furnaces, annealing furnaces, a shot-blasting unit, paint mixers, drying cabinets and a laboratory. The equipment is compact, so no major construction is needed.

Equipment of our own design

The MT-400, MT-600 and MT-800 semi-automatic machines sinter foam patterns of any geometry in a single cycle. In our blowing unit, pressure builds in the hopper rather than in the gun: the molds are simpler and cheaper, and the operator needs no special skill.

Installation and training from scratch

Our engineers assemble the line at your site and train your team on the whole cycle: foam patterns, molding, melting, pouring, shake-out and sand regeneration. It takes 2–3 months from delivery to the first casting.

Support after start-up

Warranty and service, advice on operation and upgrades, and help with sales: we pass on orders from our sites in the CIS, Turkey and the Gulf states, and supply raw materials directly, with no middlemen.

Who a mini-plant is for

  • Plants and shops that buy castings elsewhere and want to bring the cycle in-house.
  • Trading companies with steady sales of metal products: replace imports with your own production.
  • Tender bidders in the CIS, the Gulf states and Turkey, where buyers favor locally made goods.
  • Investors looking for an industrial project with about a year's payback and a management team in place.

Two casting technologies

How lost foam and the V-process work
Polystyrene foam patterns prepared for molding

Lost foam casting (LFC)

A polystyrene copy of the part is molded in dry sand and gasifies as the metal is poured.

  • The mold has no parting line, no cores and no flash: the casting repeats the foam pattern.
  • Production splits into a white shop (foam patterns) and a black shop (casting); both are part of the package.
  • A smooth surface and accurate geometry cut the cost of machining.
Red V-Process vacuum flask with the film in place before pouring

V-process (vacuum-film molding)

A heated film hugs the pattern, the flask is filled with dry sand and the shape is held by vacuum.

  • An exact impression without binders: the film transfers onto the sand and keeps the pattern geometry.
  • Pouring under vacuum gives dense metal with no porosity or gas defects.
  • The sand is reclaimed and reused, which saves on consumables.

Frequently asked questions

What is a foundry mini-plant?

It is a compact production complex making 10–50 tonnes of castings a month: a white shop where foam patterns are made, and a black shop where molding, melting and pouring take place. The plant needs no major construction and fits even a small industrial building, so rent and site preparation cost very little.

What is included in a turnkey delivery?

White-shop equipment (MT-400, MT-600 and MT-800 semi-automatic machines with pre-expansion, the blowing unit, drying cabinets), black-shop equipment (monoblock flasks with sand filling, vibration compaction, vacuum and sand regeneration, melting furnaces, annealing furnaces, shot-blasting units, paint mixers and a laboratory), installation, staff training, and warranty and post-warranty service.

How much does a mini-plant cost and when does it pay back?

FENIX molding lines start from $60,000 (Aylin‑2026; the FENIX‑Laborator laboratory unit is $30,000). Turnkey mini-plants start from $98,500. Standard configurations: lost foam 10 t/month for $130,000, lost foam 20 t/month for $260,000, lost foam 30 t/month for $390,000, mechanized V-process 40–50 t/month for $390,000; delivery is quoted separately depending on the location. Payback is 8–12 months: scrap metal is turned into finished products at a profit of $1 to $6 per kilogram.

How do delivery, installation and training work?

The equipment is manufactured in China and the project is run from our headquarters in Dubai. Delivery is quoted separately depending on the location. On your site our engineers install the line and train your staff from scratch: pattern making, molding, melting, pouring, shake-out and sand regeneration. It takes 2–3 months from delivery to the start of production.

Lost foam or V-process: which technology should I choose?

Lost foam pays off on parts with complex geometry and on series work: the polystyrene pattern needs no parting line and no cores, so tooling is cheaper. The V-process is chosen where accurate geometry, a clean surface and large castings matter: the simplified horizontal line takes flasks up to 1400×1400 mm and produces castings of up to 0.5–1 tonne per cycle. Both technologies handle iron, steel and non-ferrous metals; we match the configuration to your product range.
