Mini-plant for casting rounds, squares and hexagons up to 1.5 m

  • from $325,000 Price
  • 200 t/month Capacity
Chamber furnace with a roll-out hearth for heat-treating billets
The roll-out-hearth chamber furnace in the heat-treatment area.

This mini-plant casts rounds, squares and hexagons and produces 200 tonnes of billets a month on a single shift - six heats per shift on two 500 kg induction units.

Billets up to 1500 mm long are cast from scrap, burden, iron or non-ferrous metals and feed machining or the rolling of rebar, wire rod, angle and channel. The package costs $325,000.

What this configuration gives you

High output on a simple product range. 200 tonnes a month on one shift comes from six heats per shift and pouring into ingot molds - no pattern shop and no complex molding.

A versatile set of profiles. Round, square and hexagonal billet in twenty sizes covers demand for machining stock and for rolling rebar, wire rod, angle and channel.

Your own scrap becomes product. Scrap, burden and swarf are turned into saleable billet, which lowers unit cost and removes dependence on bought-in stock.

Composition control. The laboratory unit confirms the grade of each heat before pouring.

Who it suits

  • Metal traders and scrap processors who want their own conversion step.
  • Machining plants with steady billet consumption.
  • Rolling and hardware producers that currently buy in billet for rebar and wire rod.

What is included

  • 500 kg induction melting unit (2 units)
  • 2x1x1 m monoblock unit
  • Set of ingot molds
  • Hot-wire cutting machine
  • Bogie-hearth chamber electric furnace
  • Laboratory unit for chemical analysis of heats
  • Casting ladle

How the plant works

  1. Melt scrap, burden, iron or non-ferrous metal in the induction furnaces
  2. Cast billets of the required section and length into ingot molds
  3. Cool and clean the billets
  4. Check geometry and surface quality
  5. Ship for machining, rolling or resale

What the delivery includes

  • Process training: from raw material preparation and molding through to finishing, in theory and in practice.
  • Machine training: settings, operating modes and maintenance of the CNC and auxiliary equipment.
  • Staff training for process engineers, CNC operators, quality inspectors and foundry workers.
  • 12-month equipment warranty, including free repair of any faults.
  • Process support at start-up: inspection of every unit and set-up of the production flow.
  • Ramp-up to the rated output, with checks on casting and machining quality.
  • Handover to full autonomy: process instructions and contacts of vetted material suppliers.
  • Supervised installation: assembly, commissioning and a test run on your site.
  • Ongoing technical support after production starts.

Frequently asked questions

Which billet sections can be cast?

From 50x60 to 240x250 mm, in lengths of 750 to 1500 mm - twenty sizes of round, square and hexagonal billet. The full list is in the specification table.

What raw material does the plant run on?

Scrap, burden, iron and non-ferrous metals, so your own production waste can be turned into saleable billet.

How is 200 tonnes a month achieved?

Six heats per shift on two 500 kg induction units, working one shift. Running two shifts scales the output proportionally.
