Two foam machines, two jobs
The CNC milling machine cuts complex, precise shapes; the hot-wire machine works fast through large foam blocks. Together they widen the range of patterns a shop can make without expensive tooling, and they pair naturally with the MT-400/600/800 pattern machines.
Coating quality control
The dissolver prepares and applies an even layer of refractory coating to foam patterns — one of the key conditions for consistent casting quality in lost foam casting. Coating viscosity is checked with a VZ-246 viscometer before every application.
Tools and worker protection
The set is rounded out with foundry hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) for work in both the pattern shop and the melt shop. Every item in this category ships as part of a Modern Technologies mini-plant and can also be reordered separately as production grows.
Frequently asked questions
Can support equipment be bought separately from a full plant?
Yes. Foam machines, the dissolver, the viscometer, hand tools and PPE are all supplied on their own or as part of a mini-plant or molding-line package.
What is the dissolver for?
It prepares and evenly applies refractory coating to foam patterns — coating quality directly determines the casting's surface finish.
How is refractory coating quality checked?
Coating viscosity is checked with a VZ-246 flow-cup viscometer before every application; the instrument is available in three versions.
